Everything You Need to Know
What does the all-inclusive rate at Angama Mara include?
Rates include accommodation, all meals, selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (excluding French Champagne and reserve wines), game drives in the Mara Triangle, guided walking safaris on the Rift Valley escarpment, laundry service, and airstrip transfers. Park fees and private vehicle upgrades are additional.
How do I get to Angama Mara?
Angama Mara is best accessed by air. Multiple daily scheduled flights operate from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip (~45 minutes). Private charter flights from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport direct to Angama's private airstrip are also available.
Are children welcome at Angama Mara?
Children of all ages are welcome year-round. Children aged 12 and under must share a triple room (with parents or siblings) unless an additional Tented Suite is booked at the Family Suite rate. Child-minding services are available.
What is the best time to visit Angama Mara?
Angama Mara is open year-round. The Great Wildebeest Migration typically passes through the Mara Triangle between July and October, making this the peak season. The shoulder months (November and January–June) offer excellent wildlife viewing with fewer visitors and lower rates.
Can guests do hot-air balloon safaris from Angama Mara?
Yes. Hot-air balloon safaris over the Maasai Mara are available as an add-on experience (at additional cost), arranged through an external operator. The balloon safari includes a champagne bush breakfast upon landing and is a highly recommended activity.
