Yes, it is located inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This means you have immediate access to the descent road for early morning game drives, but you must pay park entry and concession fees.
Do all rooms have a view of the crater?
Yes, the lodge is uniquely designed so that every guest room has a private balcony overlooking the crater floor.
Is there a swimming pool?
No, unlike some other Serena properties, this lodge does not have a swimming pool. The climate on the rim is generally too cool for swimming.
How is the climate at the lodge?
Because it is at high altitude (approx. 2,300m), it can get very chilly at night and in the early mornings. The lodge provides extra blankets and has a central fireplace to keep guests warm.
Can I see wildlife from my room?
Frequently. It is common to see elephants, buffalo, and various bird species wandering near the lodge grounds or just below the balconies.
