About Mwiba Lodge
Mwiba Lodge is the pinnacle of "Ultra-Luxury" in the Serengeti ecosystem. Because it is on a private reserve, it offers freedoms not available in the National Park, such as off-road driving, night drives, and bush walks. The lodge features a sophisticated blend of traditional design and modern luxury, with slate floors, copper fixtures, and massive glass walls. Like its sister camp Mila, Mwiba includes a private vehicle and guide for every booking.

Everything You Need to Know
What makes Mwiba different from a Serengeti lodge?
The biggest advantage is the Private Reserve status. You can drive off-road to get closer to wildlife, go on night game drives, and perform bush walks that are restricted inside the National Park. There are also no "tourist crowds."
Is the Great Migration seen here?
Yes. From January to March, the Mwiba Reserve is a key area for the migration calving season. The lush plains attract tens of thousands of wildebeest and their predators.
What cultural experiences are available?
Mwiba has a very close relationship with the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. Guests can join the Hadzabe on an authentic morning hunt or honey-gathering expedition—a truly raw and unscripted cultural encounter.
Does the lodge allow children?
Yes, children of all ages are welcome. The Family Suites and the availability of private vehicles make it one of the most flexible high-end options for families in East Africa.
How do I get there?
The most common route is a private or scheduled charter flight to the Mwiba Airstrip. It is also possible to fly into Ndutu and take a lodge transfer.
