Desert Quiver Camp offers a unique "flash-packing" or upscale self-catering experience. Each unit is a permanent structure with slanted canvas roofs and large private patios featuring a fully equipped kitchenette. The camp is set against a backdrop of striking granite outcrops and vast desert plains. While the units are self-catering, guests have the option to order fresh food baskets for their BBQ (braai) or enjoy meals at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge. It’s the perfect base for early morning missions to Dune 45 and Deadvlei.

How do the self-catering baskets work?
You can order various "Braai Baskets" at reception, which include your choice of meat (steak, kudu, etc.), salads, bread, and wood. The staff will deliver them to your unit, allowing you to enjoy a traditional Namibian BBQ under the stars.
Is there air-conditioning in the rooms?
No, the units do not have air-conditioning. However, they are designed with thick walls and canvas roofs to stay relatively cool, and each unit is equipped with a powerful floor fan.
Can we see the dunes from the camp?
You can see the Elim Dune (the first dune in the park) and the distant mountains from the camp. For the big dunes like Sossusvlei, you will need to drive 5km to the gate and then approximately 60km into the park.
Is the road to the camp paved?
The main C27 road to Sesriem is gravel. While usually well-graded, it can be bumpy. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended, though standard 2WD vehicles can make it if driven carefully.
