Does staying here give me earlier access to the dunes?
Yes. Because the lodge is located inside the first park gate (the outer gate), you are already ahead of the crowds. You can leave the lodge at the same time the second (inner) gate opens, giving you roughly a 10-15 minute head start over anyone staying outside the park.
Are the rooms air-conditioned?
Yes, each luxury chalet is equipped with a modern climate control system, providing essential cooling during the day and heating for the cold desert nights.
What is the distance to Deadvlei?
From the lodge, it is approximately a 60km drive to the Sossusvlei 2WD parking area, followed by a 4km 4x4 shuttle or drive to the Deadvlei parking area.
Is the lodge child-friendly?
Yes, children are welcome. However, the atmosphere is generally quiet and geared toward photography and nature excursions, so parents should ensure children are supervised, especially around the pool area.
