Everything You Need to Know
What is the structural difference between the Standard, View, and Superior View rooms?
The design, canvas layout, and internal amenities of these 12 rooms are identical. The only factor determining the category is the position and direction of the view: Standard rooms overlook the boulder valleys to the east/northeast, View rooms feature direct eastern valley views, and Superior View rooms face due west for unobstructed sunset panoramas.
Are we guaranteed to see desert-adapted elephants during our stay?
While wildlife is completely wild and free-roaming along the ephemeral Aba Huab River structure, Mowani’s experienced local trackers possess an intimate knowledge of herd movements. Sightings on their 4x4 desert nature drives are highly successful throughout most of the year.
Can guests staying at the nearby Mowani Campsites use the lodge facilities?
No. To maintain absolute privacy and an intimate atmosphere for lodge residents, the swimming pool, restaurant, main boma, and sundowner viewpoint decks are strictly reserved for guests booked into the primary camp rooms and suites.
Is Mowani Mountain Camp accessible with a 2WD vehicle?
Yes. The access route from the D2612 is a typical gravel path that a standard 2WD vehicle can handle with careful, slow driving. However, because of the rocky regional topography, a high-clearance vehicle or 4x4 is highly recommended for safety and overall comfort.
