How far is the lodge from the Sossusvlei dunes and Deadvlei?
The lodge is located exactly 60 kilometers north of the Sesriem Gate, which is the official park entry point. From the gate, it is an additional 60-kilometer paved drive to the Sossusvlei dune fields and Deadvlei parking area. Visitors should factor in a total travel time of roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes each way.
Can we see wild animals directly from the lodge grounds?
Yes. The open plains surrounding the lodge are part of the Gondwana Namib Park, allowing desert wildlife to roam freely. Guests regularly spot gemsbok (oryx), springbok, ostriches, and jackals coming down to drink at the illuminated waterhole positioned directly in front of the main pool deck.
What activities can be arranged directly at the property?
The lodge operates guided morning or late-afternoon Dune Drives in open-sided 4x4 trucks exploring the fossilized sandstone ridges. Guests can also access self-guided hiking trails across the red dunes, register for guided walking tours, or book day excursions to Sossusvlei.
