Chimpanzee tracking (kibale national park)
kanyanchu tourism center, kibale national park. 2 to 4 hours.
Experience Overview
The adventure begins at the kanyanchu visitors center with a morning or afternoon briefing. you will be led by expert uganda wildlife authority (uwa) guides into the forest to find one of the three habituated communities. while chimpanzees spend much of their time in the high canopy, they often descend to the forest floor to socialise, groom, and travel. once located, you spend one hour observing their complex social dynamics, vocalizations (including their famous "pant-hoots"), and tool-using behaviors. the forest itself is a highlight, filled with ancient trees, butterflies, and 12 other primate species including red colobus and l’hoest’s monkeys.
