Hot Air Baloon in Tarangire
Tarangire National Park, Tanzania. 3.5 to 5 hours.
Experience Overview
The experience begins before dawn with a transfer to the launch site, where you can watch the impressive inflation of the balloon as the sun starts to rise. Once airborne, you will float gracefully for about an hour, following the morning winds. The flight offers a 360-degree view of the undulating landscape, from the golden savannah to the riverine forests. After landing, the adventure concludes with a "bush breakfast"—a full cooked meal and a champagne toast in a remote location within the park—followed by a certificate ceremony and a game drive back to your lodge.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
Prices typically range from $550 to $650 per person. This includes the flight, park ballooning fees, transfers, and the champagne breakfast.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Ballooning is 100% weather-dependent. If the pilot cancels the flight due to wind or rain, you will usually be rescheduled for the next morning or receive a full refund.
Can I see the Great Migration?
While Tarangire has a "mini-migration" during the dry season (July–October), the famous Great Wildebeest Migration occurs in the Serengeti. However, Tarangire offers the highest concentration of elephants in Tanzania during these months.
Is it scary if I’m afraid of heights?
Most people find ballooning very serene. Because the balloon moves with the wind, there is no "motion" or swaying, and the basket feels very secure and stable.
