The experience begins at dawn with a briefing at the park headquarters of either bwindi impenetrable national park or mgahinga gorilla national park. you are assigned to a specific habituated gorilla family based on your fitness level. led by expert rangers and trackers, you hike through dense vegetation, steep ridges, and muddy trails. the trek can last anywhere from 2 to 7 hours depending on the gorillas' movement. once found, you spend exactly one hour watching the family groom, feed, and play, maintaining a safe distance of 7 to 10 meters.
