The slow-cooled igneous rock has resisted erosion for millennia, creating a beautifully bouldered landscape that stands up to 2,216 meters above sea level. Located between the towns of Omaruru and Karibib, this region is a transition zone between the desert and the savanna. It is home to the Erongo Mountain Nature Conservancy, where private landowners collaborate to protect the unique biodiversity and prehistoric heritage of the range, including sites like Paula’s Cave with its ancient engravings.
