Travel Requirements
Amboseli National Park charges
KWS entry fees payable via the eCitizen platform — approximately USD 90 per
person per day for non-resident adults. All international visitors require a
valid passport and an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) obtained online
before departure. A yellow fever certificate may be required if travelling from
or through yellow fever endemic countries. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly
recommended as Amboseli has a risk throughout the year, particularly around the
swamp areas. Travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is highly
advisable. Dress codes are informal — lightweight neutral-coloured clothing is
ideal. The park is accessible by road from Nairobi (approximately 4 hours via
Emali or 5 hours via Namanga) or by scheduled light aircraft to Amboseli
airstrip.
