Experience Timbavati Nature Reserve

Established in 1956, Timbavati is a cornerstone of the Greater Kruger ecosystem. By removing the fences with Kruger in 1993, the reserve restored ancient migration paths, allowing wildlife to move freely across millions of hectares. Timbavati is managed by a dedicated association of landowners committed to high-level conservation and low-density tourism. The landscape is a classic lowveld savanna, featuring ancient granite formations, mopane woodlands, and seasonal riverbeds. It offers a more rugged and authentic "bush" feel than some of its neighbors, with a wide range of accommodation from rustic tented camps to ultra-luxury lodges.
