Trip Overview
Botswana is a country of
dramatic contrasts, and nowhere is this more eloquently demonstrated than in
the combination of its two most iconic wilderness areas: the Central Kalahari
Game Reserve and the Okavango Delta. This premium 7-day safari — with private
light aircraft transfers between camps — gives you exclusive access to both,
ensuring you experience the full magnificence of Botswana's wildlife heritage.
The journey begins at Dinaka
Camp, a privately-owned reserve bordering the northern reaches of the Central
Kalahari Game Reserve. Here, the vast semi-arid landscape opens up to reveal a
surprising abundance of desert-adapted wildlife — Kalahari lions with
black-maned splendour, elegant oryx, cheetah racing across the plains, brown
hyena, and the endlessly entertaining meerkats and bat-eared foxes of the
Kalahari.
Then, by light aircraft, you are
transported to a completely different world: Kanana Camp on the Xudum River in
the heart of the Okavango Delta. Here, water defines everything — elephants
wade through channels, hippos grunt in lagoons, red lechwe splash through
floodplains, and mokoro canoes glide silently through papyrus corridors. Game
drives, mokoro excursions, motorboat safaris, and walking safaris in the Delta
create a multi-dimensional wildlife experience unlike anything else in Africa.
All meals and drinks are
included at both camps (excluding premium brands), and light aircraft transfers
are part of the package — this is Botswana luxury safari at exceptional value.
Day-by-Day Itinerary

Frequently Asked Questions
Why combine the Kalahari and Okavango Delta?
These two ecosystems are Botswana's greatest contrasts — the Kalahari is vast, semi-arid, and home to unique desert-adapted species, while the Okavango is Africa's greatest inland water wilderness teeming with aquatic life. Together, they provide the full spectrum of Botswana's extraordinary biodiversity in a single journey.
Are the light aircraft transfers included?
Yes, all internal light aircraft charter flights between Maun, Dinaka, and Kanana are fully included in the package price. These flights are integral to the safari and offer spectacular aerial perspectives of both ecosystems.
What is the accommodation standard at Dinaka and Kanana?
Both camps offer premium safari accommodation — permanent tented suites or chalets with en-suite facilities, comfortable furnishings, and excellent cuisine. All meals and drinks (excluding premium brands) are included at both camps, making this an exceptional all-inclusive luxury experience.
What wildlife am I most likely to see?
In the Kalahari, Kalahari lions with magnificent black manes, cheetah, and the elusive brown hyena are key sightings. In the Okavango, elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, leopard, and African wild dog are regularly encountered, along with extraordinary birdlife.
What is the best time of year for this safari?
The safari operates from April to October. April–May offers the Kalahari at its most verdant post-rains with excellent wildlife, at lower rates. June–October represents peak Delta season when flood waters transform the landscape and wildlife concentrations are at their maximum
Can children join this safari?
This safari is recommended for adults and older children (12+) given the light aircraft transfers and premium camp environment. Please contact us to discuss your specific family requirements.
