Moshi (Kilimanjaro)

Located at an altitude of approximately 830 square kilometer, Moshi is the administrative center of the Kilimanjaro region. It is one of Tanzania’s cleanest and most organized cities, largely inhabited by the Chagga people. The town’s history is deeply rooted in the coffee industry, with fertile volcanic slopes providing the perfect environment for some of the world's best Arabica coffee. Unlike the more industrial Arusha, Moshi maintains a relaxed, mountain-town atmosphere. Its bustling streets are filled with hikers preparing for their ascent, local farmers bringing produce to market, and students from the town’s many educational institutions. On clear days, the massive, snow-capped Kibo peak dominates the horizon, serving as a constant reminder of the majestic mountain that overlooks the town.
