Experience Murchison Falls National Park
Established in 1952 and covering 3,840 square kilometers, the park is bisected by the Victoria Nile. It forms the core of the Murchison Falls Conservation Area, which includes the adjacent Bugungu and Karuma Wildlife Reserves. The landscape transitions from dense tropical rainforest in the south (Rabongo and Kaniyo Pabidi) to undulating borassus palm-dotted savannah in the north. The park's crowning glory is the waterfall itself, where the Nile drops 43 meters into the "Devil's Cauldron" before flowing into Lake Albert. This dramatic geography supports a vast array of wildlife and serves as one of the best locations in East Africa to view the rare Shoebill stork.
