Trip Overview

The 5-Day Kenya Signature Safari is a masterfully designed luxury safari experience that takes you through four of Kenya's most celebrated wildlife destinations. Departing from Nairobi, you journey westward into the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve — Africa's most iconic game reserve — where you spend two full nights surrounded by the Big Five, sweeping savannahs, and breathtaking sunsets.

After the Mara, your safari evolves into a rich cultural and ecological tapestry. A visit to a traditional Maasai village brings you face-to-face with one of Africa's most iconic indigenous cultures, before you head north to Lake Nakuru National Park — a UNESCO-listed wetland marvel that serves as both a rhino sanctuary and home to millions of flamingoes painting the lakeshores vivid pink.

Day four brings you to the enchanting Lake Naivasha, where a boat ride ferries you to the wildlife-rich Crescent Island for a walking safari unlike any other — no vehicle barriers, just you and the animals. The afternoon adventure takes you deep into Hell's Gate National Park, a geothermal wonderland of towering gorges and steaming hot springs that inspired the landscapes of Disney's "The Lion King."

Accommodations are carefully selected for their excellence: Sarova Mara Game Camp's iconic tented luxury in the heart of the Mara, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge's dramatic hilltop perch above Lake Nakuru, and Enashipai Resort & Spa's world-class lakeside elegance at Naivasha. This is Kenya at its very finest.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your safari adventure begins with a comfortable pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or airport in a custom 4x4 safari vehicle. You depart westward toward the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve, covering approximately 225 km over 5–6 hours of scenic countryside driving. En route, savour a panoramic stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint — a UNESCO-listed geological marvel offering sweeping views of the dramatic escarpment and ancient volcanic landscapes, perfect for photography. The journey continues through rural Kenyan villages with an optional stop in Narok town for souvenirs or refreshments. Arrive at Sarova Mara Game Camp in time for check-in and a sumptuous welcome lunch of fresh Kenyan and international cuisine. After a short rest, head out for your inaugural afternoon game drive across the rolling savannahs in search of lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, and more. Return to camp at sunset for dinner around an evening campfire.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the 5-Day Kenya Signature Safari package?

The package includes all national park fees, game drives, accommodation at three luxury properties (Sarova Mara Game Camp, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, and Enashipai Resort & Spa), a professional driver/guide, a 4x4 safari vehicle, all meals as specified in the itinerary, drinking water, airport transfers, a Maasai village visit, a boat ride to Crescent Island, and a Hell's Gate guided tour.

When is the best time to visit the Masai Mara on this itinerary?

The Masai Mara is spectacular year-round, but July to October is the peak season when the Great Wildebeest Migration river crossings take place — one of the world's most dramatic wildlife events. January to February offers excellent dry-weather game viewing with fewer crowds. Even during the green season (March–June), the Mara offers excellent predator sightings and vibrant birdlife.

Do I need a visa to enter Kenya?

Yes. Most nationalities require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) or visa to enter Kenya. Visa fees are not included in the safari package. We strongly recommend applying for your Kenyan eTA online via the official government portal at least 2 weeks before travel.

Is this safari suitable for families with children?

Absolutely! This safari is family-friendly. The walking safari on Crescent Island, Hell's Gate gorge exploration, and Maasai cultural visit are particularly engaging for children. We recommend children aged 5 and above. Please inform us at booking if you are travelling with young children so we can make appropriate arrangements.

What is the accommodation standard on this safari?

All three lodges are selected for their exceptional quality. Sarova Mara Game Camp offers classic Kenyan tented luxury in the heart of the Mara. Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge provides dramatic hillside views over Lake Nakuru. Enashipai Resort & Spa offers world-class lakeside resort amenities at Lake Naivasha. All properties include private en-suite facilities and Wi-Fi.

What should I pack for a Kenya safari?

We recommend lightweight, neutral-coloured clothing (khaki, olive, beige), a fleece or light jacket for morning drives, sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, binoculars, and a camera with zoom lens. Avoid bright colours and strong perfumes in the bush.

Are tips expected, and how much should I budget?

Tips are customary in Kenya and greatly appreciated by guides and lodge staff. We recommend budgeting approximately $10 USD per person per day for your driver/guide, and a similar amount total for lodge staff across your stay. Tips are always at your discretion
