Trip Overview

This 8-day premier expedition is celebrated for its high success rate and peaceful atmosphere. Starting in Moshi, the route begins near the Kenyan border at Nalemoru village. Because it lies on the leeward side of the mountain, the Rongai Route is typically drier and more sheltered than southern paths. Climbers traverse pine forests, the high-altitude moorlands of the Mawenzi Tarn, and the vast desert of the Saddle. After a midnight summit push to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the descent follows the southern Marangu Route, transitioning from arid alpine zones into lush rainforests.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Upon individual arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be greeted by a local representative and transferred to the Parkview Hotel in Moshi, located at the foot of the mountain. During the day, you will attend a pre-trekking briefing with your mountain guide to cover safety and equipment, with the option to rent gear from our local office. You can then enjoy your first views of Kilimanjaro from the spacious outdoor terrace before your first overnight stay.
