Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a 4x4 vehicle for this self-drive itinerary?
Yes, a 4x4 or a high-clearance SUV is highly recommended for Namibia's gravel roads, especially when navigating the sandy terrain around Sossusvlei and the rugged tracks of Damaraland. Your rental vehicle and full route guidance will be provided during your orientation on Day 1
What is the orientation on Day 1 entail?
A local travel consultant will meet you at your accommodation to hand over your rental vehicle and conduct a comprehensive review of your route. They will cover essential safety information, driving tips for gravel roads, and answer any specific questions about your daily stops.
Are park entry fees included in the tour price?
Yes, standard park fees for non-residents are included for the parks and reserves featured in the main itinerary. However, note that government-imposed increases in park fees or taxes after booking are excluded.
What kind of activities are optional?
Optional activities include things like quad biking or shopping in Swakopmund, extra guided drives or tracking excursions in Etosha and Okonjima, and specific stops like the Cape Cross Seal Reserve. These can be decided and paid for during your journey.
